Keep your Rabbits Cool in Summer
Summer has arrived, and while many of us love the warm weather, it is very important to keep our small companions cool and safe.

Summer is a beautiful season, filled with sunshine and long warm days. However, for our small furry friends like rabbits, high temperatures can be dangerous. Unlike us, rabbits cannot sweat to cool down, making it easy for them to get too hot.
Watch for Warning Signs It is important to watch your rabbit closely when it gets hot. Look for these signs of distress: - Fast, shallow breathing - Red, warm ears (rabbits use their ears to release heat) - Seeming tired, slow, or weak - Wetness around the nose
Simple Ways to Keep Your Rabbit Cool 1. **Provide Fresh, Cold Water**: Add ice cubes to their water bowl. Keep a few water bowls around their home so they always have some. 2. **Move Their Home Out of the Sun**: Place their playpen in the coolest, most airy room of your house, or in a shady spot if they are outdoors. 3. **Use the "Frozen Bottle" Trick**: Freeze water bottles, wrap them in a light towel, and put them in your rabbit's play area. They can lie next to them to cool off. 4. **Cool Tiles**: Large tiles stay cool to the touch. Placing one in their area gives them a nice cold spot to rest on. 5. **Gently Wet Their Ears**: Pat their ears with damp, cool (not ice-cold) water to help them cool down naturally.
By taking these small steps, you can make sure your rabbit stays happy and healthy all summer long!
